2 months agoOn her terms
After almost 4 years of battling cancer, Kimberlyn is tired. The cancer has stopped responding to treatment. She was given the option of entering a phase 1 trial, giving her a small chance of slowing the spread, but she's decided to not spend her last months in a clinic for hours on end. She's at peace with this decision, which is some comfort for me and our family.

Latest Scans and Back to School
Following the radiosurgery on the tumor in her lung, Kimberlyn had a CT scan and a bone scan. Results show the radiosurgery shrunk the lung tumor. Only a very small spot remains in her lung. The scan did show a new tumor in her liver. Doctor says it is very small. We think that maybe due to the fact that she went without chemo for a couple of months while dealing with her lung. Plans for now are to continue her maintenance chemo and have a PET scan in 3 months.

Good afternoon. Apologies that is has been a while since we've sent out an update. Thankfully, over the past 6 months or so, things have been as close to normal as we could expect.

3 years agoSurprise Surgery!
Unfortunately, it looks like Kimberlyn will need to have the chemo port removed. If so, she would continue her maintenance chemo treatment in pill-form.
